Pairing a device to a POS terminal tells oFatoura which receipt printer and kitchen area to use for orders created on that device. Without pairing, the device falls back to branch-level defaults. Pairing takes under a minute and stays in place until you deliberately remove it.
You need the Register Terminal permission to pair or unpair a device. Ask your admin if the option is greyed out.
How it works
An admin generates a one-time 6-digit pairing code for the terminal in the web dashboard. You enter that code on the device. Once paired, every order you create on that device automatically inherits:
- The terminal’s default receipt printer (when one is configured for the terminal).
- The terminal’s dining area, which drives kitchen routing for KOT printing.
Pairing persists across branch switches — if you switch to a different branch on the same device, the terminal association remains until you unpair.
Pair this device
Ask your admin for the pairing code
An admin opens the web dashboard and goes to Settings → Printers and Devices → POS Terminals. They select the terminal you want to pair this device with and tap Generate code. A fresh 6-digit code appears — it is single-use, so ask for it right before you need it.
Open POS Terminal settings on the device
In the ePOS waiter app, tap the Settings icon (top-right of any screen or the left-side menu), then tap POS Terminal.
Enter the 6-digit code
Tap the Pairing code field and type the six digits your admin gave you, then tap Pair. The app shows a confirmation message — “Paired with [terminal name]” — and displays the terminal details card.
View your paired terminal
After pairing, the POS Terminal screen shows a card with:
- Terminal name — the label your admin assigned to this terminal.
- Code — the pairing code used to link this device.
Any orders created on this device will now use the terminal’s configured printer and area.
Unpair this device
Open POS Terminal settings
Tap Settings in the app, then tap POS Terminal.
Tap Unpair this device
On the paired terminal card, tap Unpair this device. The card is removed and the device returns to branch-level defaults.
Unpairing takes effect immediately. Orders created after unpairing will no longer inherit the terminal’s printer or area routing. Re-pair with a new code if you need to restore the link.
Permissions
Staff need the Register Terminal permission to access the POS Terminal pairing screen and to pair or unpair. This permission is granted per role by your admin in the web dashboard under Staff → Roles.
