Menu items are the actual dishes and drinks you sell. Each item has a name, price, and can be linked to a category, modifiers, and images.

Overview

  • Add each dish or drink to your menu
  • Set prices and descriptions
  • Assign items to categories
  • Upload images
  • Control availability (show or hide)
  • Bulk import items from a file

Prerequisites

  • Item categories must be created (see Item categories).
  • You need permission to manage Menu Items.

Steps

1. Open Menu Items

Menu items list
  1. In the left sidebar, click Menu to expand it.
  2. Click Menu Items.
  3. The Menu Items page opens with a list of all items.

2. Create a new menu item

Menu item form
  1. Click Add or Create.
  2. Fill in the form:
    • Name – e.g., “Margherita Pizza”, “Coca-Cola”
    • Price – the default price
    • Category – select from your Item Categories
    • Description (optional) – short text for customers
  3. If there is an Image field, upload a photo.
  4. Set Available or Show on Customer Site if you want it visible.
  5. Click Save or Create.

3. Add modifiers to an item

  1. Open the item for editing.
  2. Find the Modifiers or Modifier Groups section.
  3. Select the modifier groups that apply (e.g., Size, Extras).
  4. Save the item.

4. Toggle availability

  1. In the list, find the Available or similar toggle for the item.
  2. Switch it off to hide the item from POS and the customer site.
  3. Switch it on again when you want to offer it.

5. Bulk import menu items

  1. On the Menu Items page, look for Bulk Import or Import.
  2. Download the sample or template file if offered.
  3. Fill in the columns (name, price, category, etc.).
  4. Upload the file.
  5. Check the preview and confirm the import.

6. Edit or delete an item

  1. Edit: Click Edit on the row, change the details, then Save.
  2. Delete: Click Delete, confirm. Check that no active orders use this item.
Troubleshooting: Items with active orders may not be deletable—wait until orders are completed or cancel those orders first. If bulk import fails, check for duplicate names, invalid categories, or price format errors.
